About Hempstead, NY
Considered the largest of the three towns located in Nassau County, the Town of Hempstead was once known as South Hempstead. This is located at the western half of Long Island, at the southwestern part of the county. There are 22 incorporated villages forming part of the town, some of them partially within it. It serves as the located for the main campus of Hofstra University.
